1.What This Is
Rich Farts is a fixed collection of 1,111 pictures of fictional beings who have too much money, rendered in the manner of Victorian banknote engraving. It is a work of art and satire. It is a collection of pictures. This page exists so that nobody can say they were not told what the pictures are, which is: pictures.
2.Not An Investment
A Rich Fart is not an investment, a security, a share, a bond, a note, an investment contract, or an interest in any business, fund, or common enterprise. There is no profit-sharing, no dividend, no yield, no staking, no fractional anything, no governance, and no treasury. Nothing here is offered or marketed as something that will make you money, because it is a picture, and pictures are famously bad at that.
3.No Promises
There is no roadmap. There is no utility. There are no future features, no game, no metaverse, no airdrops, no events, no rewards, no club, no access, and no plan. The picture is the entire product. When you have the picture, the transaction is complete — and so, as far as any obligation goes, are we.
We may go on to do all sorts of things, because we enjoy this. We may also do nothing, forever. Neither outcome breaks a promise, because no promise was made. Anything we do after you buy a picture is a gift of enthusiasm, not the fulfilment of a commitment.
4.No Expectation Of Profit
If you expect a Rich Fart to be worth more later, that expectation is entirely your own invention and you should have a word with yourself about it. We are not working to increase the value of anything. Our full effort went into the engraving, and the engraving is finished. The prudent assumption about the future value of a picture of a moon in a tailcoat is zero.
Every buyer should be able to say, truthfully:
"They told me it was worthless and I bought it anyway."
5.The Art, The Copyright, The Robot
The art is made with AI image tools, under extensive human direction, selection, and rejection. We think it is beautiful. The United States Copyright Office has taken the position that AI-generated imagery without sufficient human authorship may not be copyrightable at all. So we will not sell you a copyright we may not own. Owning a Rich Fart means owning a token that points at a picture. You may display it, be it, and resell it. It conveys no copyright and no commercial rights. It is a deed to a fart, and we mean that with complete sincerity.
6.The Tarot
Seventy-eight of the 1,111 contain a miniature card face from the 1909 Waite–Smith tarot deck, which is in the public domain. No affiliation with, or endorsement by, any modern tarot publisher exists or is implied. The cards predict nothing. Neither do we.
7.The Public Domain
Some pieces reference characters, stories, and works old enough that their copyrights have died of natural causes. Where we do this, we work only from the original public-domain source — the first published text, the first published drawings, the original-era design — and never from any later adaptation, film, cartoon, or redesign, which remain the property of whoever owns them. Character names and imagery from those later versions are trademarks of their respective owners, and we claim no rights in any of them. No affiliation with, or endorsement by, any studio, publisher, estate, or rights-holder exists or is implied — they have their versions, we have the ones the law gave to everybody. Each such piece will state its public-domain source. The dead authors have not been consulted and are presumed indifferent.
8.The Rich Are Fictional
All 1,111 beings are fictional. None of them is, or is intended to depict, any actual living billionaire. They are satire of a species, not a portrait of a specimen. If one of them reminds you of somebody in particular, that resemblance lives in your head, and frankly it says more about the somebody than it does about the fart.
9.No Affiliation
Rich Farts is an independent work. Any blockchain, marketplace, wallet, social platform, or other service where the collection or its accounts may appear is a venue we use, not a partner, sponsor, or endorser. No affiliation with any such company — or with any company at all, however near our name may appear to theirs — exists or is implied.
10.Not Advice
Nothing on this site — pictures, posts, replies, captions, or the word "pfft" in any of its senses — is financial, investment, legal, tax, or accounting advice. If you make financial decisions based on an engraving of a vulture in evening dress, that is a matter between you and the vulture.
11.Risk
Digital collectibles are volatile and can lose all value, quickly and permanently. They are not insured and not guaranteed by anyone. There are no refunds, no buybacks, and no redemption of any kind. You could lose everything you spend, and this page is you being told so in plain words, in advance, on purpose.
12.Where You Live
The laws of the place you are reading this from are your responsibility. If digital collectibles are restricted where you live, this collection is not for you, and we commend the picture-viewing, which remains free everywhere.
13.The Only Promise
There are 1,111. There will never be more. That is the entire promise, and we have now made it, and we are already slightly uncomfortable about having promised anything at all.
